Folding Paper Architecture
Folding Architecture is a generative process in architectural design that relies on hand-eye coordination and employs a list of verbs, including “fold,” “press,” “crease,” “pleat,” and more. This method involves creating individual architectural forms based on the principles of manual manipulation. The exercises are inspired by the book Folding Architecture (2003) by Sophia Vyzoviti, which demonstrates how scrap papers possess spatial potentials and can be transformed into dynamic, affectionate spaces.
