Charleston Urban Design Project
While Charleston, South Carolina maintains its consistent traditional urban atmosphere, every city, like a painting, requires contrast. I observed this contrast in the city’s modern urban landmarks, akin to ink spreading through and merging with the traditional urban environment. This concept is inspired by the technique of ink drawing, which significantly influenced the project’s design development and overall concept. In the initial sketches, the gradual fading hachures markers led to the visualization of this urban contrast as a versatile space extending throughout the city.
